Happy 5th Birthday Hunter!

Hunter had been loooonnnggg awaiting his birthday for months this year.  With each passing family members birthday he would share how long it would be before his birthday.  Hunter is fast becoming a big kid...filled with more realistic emotions, thoughts, rationalizations, etc.  His vocabulary continues to grow and the way he speaks is changing.  He is learning to write more, his coloring has changed dramatically, and he is starting to learn some sight words...the, to, do, pizza (ha), dog, etc...just the basics.  I leave sticky notes in the car of these words and we will practice at stop lights...hey, every little bit helps :)  Above all else...Hunter is an incredibly loving and happy kid.  His joy and excitement for life are addicting and tell me that he will do great things with his life as he is very passionate about what he loves!

I will post some pics of Hunter's birthday and birthday party soon.  For now...here is all about Hunter at 5!!!

He loves to play with Kaelyn and give her hugs and kisses
He is incredibly loving.  He loves hugging, snuggling, and anything loving to his family.  He requests a hug and kiss every morning and night from Kaelyn.
He LOVES tball and even doubles up his socks in the morning on practice days so he is ready that evening!
Says his favorite thing about tball is "learning" followed in second by "batting"
Loves discussing foods and what food groups they are in.  His favorite group is the protein group.
He loves to play with his superheroes, dress up as a superhero, have superhero battles, etc.  I think this might just be a right of passage for little boys.
He loves fish sticks...a new absolute dinner favorite.
Other favorite foods are: Jett's pizza, strawberry waffles, grapes, donuts, cheese-its, milk as always, mandarin oranges, Mommy's cheese, and he has declared that BACON is his favorite food and he will in fact gobble it up!  WHAT!!!
He continues to love playing teacher.  He has a natural inclination to organize and coordinate the people around him.  Maybe a bit controlling of his environment....a trait I'm certain he inherited from me.
He loves sports...loves watching and playing tball/baseball, watching football, occasionally basketball, and playing soccer though usually he will comment that he doesn't really like soccer...so we'll see if he sticks with that one long term.
He is enthusiastic and excited for about anything....he bounds off the wall with new experiences and fun!
He loves to learn and is a sponge at preschool!  Miss Audrey said he is very ready for Kindergarten...I hope so!
He is getting better swimming though still really dislikes water on his face.  He is finally wearing goggles but will just dip his face in quick...still an improvement.
He has recently started calling Mommy his girlfriend and when he was mad at me this weekend told me, "I wasn't his girlfriend anymore!"  I had to giggle...10 minutes later...I was back to his girlfriend.
He is a pleaser...he wants us to be happy and proud of him consistently and will work really hard to be well-behaved.  The biggest issue we have is when he does do something bad....he feels so awful and embarrassed about it that he'll melt down.
He is rule-follower.  Goes along with wanting to be good.
He is horribly afraid of bees.
Hunter LOVES the zoo.
He is great at accents...can speak in about any accent very well.
He is funny...loves a good laugh and loves dishing it out :)
Hunter says he loves dancing....maybe due to our almost daily dance parties in the kitchen....an automatic re-energizer for us.
Hunter has grown into such an amazing little guy....I'm impressed daily with his kindness, love, happiness, and enthusiasm for life!

Here comes Peter Cottontail...

Easter was a pretty exciting day in our home this year.  We did a lot to prepare...making birds nests, dying eggs, cleaning (so the Easter bunny had a place to hide the eggs of course), egg hunts just for fun, and just general excitement towards the day made Easter pretty wonderful this year!  Here are some pics of our Easton-Easter fun!

our first attempt at Hunter and Mommy's Great Bird Nests (as they were affectionately named)

both equally excited about their baskets

THOR

love this pic...really captures what it is like with the two of them...Hunter grabbing her and Kaelyn either laughing or getting really mad!

Taking this superhero business seriously

One of her presents from the E.B....an Ariel baby and car seat....wouldn't put them down.

Hunter choose his outfit this year.  He categorized it as his "handsome" outfit

When we take out the camera she immediately says "cheese"
